I can remember watching “Weekend at Bernie’s” for the first time. It’s hilarious, dark and witty. The film stars Jonathan Silverman, Andrew McCarthy and Terry Kiser as the larger than life dead guy – Bernie Lomax. The premise of this film is pretty simple. Two guys get invited to their bosses weekend getaway “on the dune” and find him dead. They continue to act as if he is alive to continue receiving the luxury treatment. What they go through to do so is, well – you’ll see. Watch the trailer and full feature in HD right here. Enjoy!
Facebook SUCKS, and I’ll tell you why. I’ve spent allot of money over the years with Facebook to advertise the 80s Mixed page and some posts. I recently received an email from Facebook stating that my page was in violation of “copyright infringement”. Someone reported the page multiple times due to this FALSE CLAIM and the 80s Mixed Facebook page was gone forever without an explanation. I’ve tried to get the page back but Facebook says it has been deleted forever. Since then, I have removed myself as well as any remnants of 80s Mixed from Facebook. I will be changing our commercial format too as to NOT include Facebook in all bumper ads and station ID promos. It’s sad because I wasted so much money and time getting fans for the Facebook page, but that’s why Facebook sucks.
National Lampoon’s Vacation is a story of a family that starts off with a trade-in of the ol’ station wagon for a family truckster. Then they embark on a comedy fueled adventure to get to the one destination in the world that the family has set in their hearts… Wally World! Sit back and watch as Clark (Chevy Chase) and the rest of the Griswold’s try to make it a bearable vacation. Enjoy!
Spaceballs is an 80s classic with Mel Brooks at the director’s (and actor’s) helm-et. Since Star Wars was so hugely popular it was only a matter of time before someone spoofed it and so many more space movies of yesteryear. This spoof follows an orphan, of 25+ years old, trying to find out who he is along with his half man – half dog played by John Candy. Sit back and laugh at Spaceballs…and it’s trailer! Enjoy!
You wanna cry? Whelp, you chose the right movie for that. In this film longtime friends become hetero life partners. I won’t give away the ending to those that are being introduced to Beaches for the first time… but I will say that you need a box of tissues for the end. Enjoy!
It’s been almost 40 years since Indiana Jones showed me what a real on-screen adventure looked like. In this classic, starring Harrison Ford, the Natzis want the all powerful Ark of the Covenant and Indiana Jones has to stop them before the power of the ark falls into the wrong hands. Sit back and enjoy Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Enjoy!
For thirty-five years now we have watched the Brain, the Athlete, the Basket Case, the Princess and the Criminal serve in Saturday detention. The Breakfast Club stars most of the Brat Pack in a very revealing look at what kids have to go through at home that carries over to school time. Here is the movie in HD and a trailer to go along with it. Enjoy!
There was a time when robot number 5 was just a drone. Then number 5 was struck by lightning and was given the gift of life. He named himself Johnny 5 and he is ALIVE! Sit back and enjoy both of these ’80s classics in HD, Short Circuit and Short Circuit 2.
The Neverending Story was released in 1984 and is a fantasy movie that is now 36 years old. The movie still holds up to the test of time with pioneering special effects and really heavy story telling for a kid movie. Like I said – a dead horse is nothing to cry about. Here is the full movie in HD and the original theatrical trailer. Enjoy!
Howard the Duck was a comedy – fantasy movie about a “humanized” duck from a different dimension and planet that is sucked down to earth while scientists test a portal device. But what else came with Howard? Sit back and enjoy this 1986 classic and let me know what you thought in the comments below. P.S. I’ve included two rare teaser trailers for the movie. Enjoy!
