The group’s quietest member, Jonathan Knight, left the entertainment business and began a new career in real estate. Brother Jordan Knight went on to release several solo efforts and a cover album of the New Kids on the Block's greatest hits remixed. Joey McIntyre stuck with music as well releasing solo albums and appearing on "Boston Legal" and "Dancing with the Stars". Danny Wood continued the trend of staying within the music industry by becoming a producer and ultimately a solo artist. Donnie Wahlberg has probably been the busiest forging a career in acting appearing in movies such as "The Sixth Sense" and the "Saw" film series, as well as the critically acclaimed mini-series Band of Brothers. Since 2010, he has starred alongside Tom Selleck in the hit television series Blue Bloods. At any rate - they've all been busy.
In 1999, MTV attempted to reunite the group and get them to perform on that year's VMAs. All of the members were on board for the project, except Jonathan. Consequently, the performance didn't eventuate. In 2004 VH1's Bands Reunited, also attempted to convince each of the members of New Kids on the Block to reunite for a one-night performance for the show. This time Jonathan agreed. However, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood all declined.
Fast forward to April of 2008 and after months of speculation Donnie confirmed to CNN that the group had reunited with plans to record new material and to stage a tour. Since that announcement the band has released two new albums, "The Block" and "10". They have also performed on stage for a multi-city reunion tour, with the Backstreet Boys for the NKOTBSB Tour and most recently The Package Tour with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men.
